FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

INSURANCES + OTHERS

Q: Is non-RMT yoga massage/stretch training (like we teach) applicable for liability insurance in Canada? I want that to safely work with clients.

A: You are 100% correct! You REALLY should have liability insurance to perform massage work on anybody, including even close family.

How Insurance Works

If you are a certified Personal Trainer / Yoga Alliance certified teacher, RMT / Physio.

You will have your own current liability insurance, so you must contact your current insurance provider and update your profile to ADD ON "Relaxation Massage / Bodywork" etc. * Often different insurance organizations have different names for these services.

If you are NOT a fitness / wellness professional.

Many insurance companies still offer liability insurance  even if you are in no-way affiliated with any professional organization like above. However, insurance is NEVER guaranteed for ANY individual, as these insurance companies often have an application process that needs to be filled out, and it can be subjective.

Rates can vary from about $250-$550/ annually, with the average we have seen at about $275 CDN.

We have seen nearly perfect success with the following insurance companies;

https://www.alignedinsurance.com/massage-therapist-insurance

https://apollocover.com/business-insurance/massage-therapist

https://sportsfitnesscanada.com

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

1 - We cannot guarantee you will get liability insurance as all insurances are based on a number of professional and personal factors. But we do have an excellent insurance agent/agency we predominantly work with, and are happy to recommend them to you.

2 - Many insurance companies allow you to apply for approval BEFORE getting your certification from us. If you want to know 100% for sure that you will get insurance, we suggest you APPLY NOW BEFORE registering for our course(s).

Q: What is the difference between the Level 1 and Level 2 courses?

Level 1 is a personal recreational training certificate course. This course will introduce you to the foundations of authentic Thai Massage that you can use on yourself, family and friends in a recommended non-commercial setting.

Note - in most cases you can get liability insurance with just Level 1

Level 2  is our recommended Thai Massage Professional certification for graduates looking to work within existing spas, or opening their own professional Thai Bodywork practice.
